The project

xSolarx is a full-stack platform that connects conscious consumers with companies in renewable energy, linking people to the right professionals and services. We built it as our end-of-bootcamp project.

Stack

The back end runs on Node.js, with an API and routing in Express and a MongoDB database. The front end uses Vite, React and CSS, built from components with global styles. Everything is JavaScript.

Authentication

Users can register, log in, verify a code, recover a forgotten password, change their password and delete their account. I mapped the logic in a flow diagram before building it.

User dashboard

Once logged in, users edit their profile, see what they have saved and follow their activity across the site.

Companies, forum and news

Users can browse renewable energy companies and like and rate them, post in the forum, read the news and comment on both. Anything they like or save shows up on their dashboard, and they can follow other users.

The platform has a dark mode and is responsive on phones and tablets.
